1.    Dakota: I’m Dakota. When I was in foster care I lived at seven places. One group home, two residential facilities and three foster homes. I was getting into a lot of trouble. I was smoking weed, taking pills, sneaking out and not following the rules. I was worried there weren’t any options for a 16 year old boy. At my last residential placement my C2Adopt worker met with me and we spoke about one of my former foster moms. She never gave up on me and wouldn’t let me give up on myself. When I’m not getting in trouble my grades are great and I’m a great athlete. My former foster mom went to C2Adopt so that she could adopt me. I’ve been with her since November 2014. Now I’m back on track. Doing well in school and looking forward to college soon.

This is one of the many reasons I am involved with C2Adopt.  During the period from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day, we are running a campaign called “Building Family Ties” to help with the important work done by C2Adopt in helping these kids and families both before and after adoption.  As a person directly helped by C2Adopt, I encourage you to donate to this worthy organization during this campaign.  My goal is to raise $3,000.00 and any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
